About Pisces Oceans

Pisces Oceans Inc. is an award-winning, WBE-certified, and 100% women-owned ocean project consultancy founded on the belief that ambitious ocean work deserves infrastructure as strong as its ambition. We partner with global ocean leaders, scientists, academics, not-for-profit directors, innovators, and Indigenous-led organizations to build the strategic, management, and communications infrastructure their projects need to restore clarity, expand capacity, and scale impact.

About the Role

As an Ocean Project Strategy Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of Pisces' core strategic services: brand strategy, communications strategy, marketing strategy, storytelling strategy, and partnership strategy. You'll work directly with clients across the ocean sector, producing polished, high-impact strategic deliverables while managing the full arc of each project with care and accountability.

This role sits at the intersection of strategic excellence and project ownership. You'll think clearly, write compellingly, manage confidently, and show up as a trusted partner for the clients we serve. This is a senior, delivery-focused role for a strategic thinker who owns their work from brief to final product, without needing close supervision to get there.

What You Will Do

You will independently lead and deliver Pisces' strategic service offerings, including:

  • Brand Strategy: brand audits, foundations (mission/vision/values), audience development, competitor analysis, positioning, and brand story.
  • Communications Strategy: market research, competitor analysis, USP development, key messaging, communications plans, and time-driven roadmaps.
  • Marketing Strategy: needs and gap analysis, product/service positioning, distribution strategy, and full marketing plans.
  • Storytelling Strategy: goal and audience mapping, StoryBrand frameworks, key messages, and storytelling tactics.
  • Partnership Strategy: landscape analysis, network mapping, engagement tactics, and partnership roadmaps.
  • Research & Information Strategy: literature reviews, data synthesis, end-user analysis, and actionable roadmaps.

As a project owner, you will also:

  • Manage client engagements from scoping through delivery, maintaining clarity and confidence at every touchpoint.
  • Contribute to work plans, timelines, and structured project documentation.
  • Exercise judgment on priorities and tradeoffs when the path isn't obvious.
  • Support Pisces' cross-pillar work by understanding how your strategic output connects to project management and communications deliverables.
  • Contribute to Pisces' own brand and business development strategy as the organization scales.

What You Bring

Must-haves

  • Proven ability to independently develop and deliver strategic products: brand frameworks, audience personas, competitive audits, messaging hierarchies, communications plans, and marketing strategies.
  • Exceptional writing: you produce polished, client-ready work that doesn't require significant editing.
  • Sound judgment under ambiguity: you make good decisions with incomplete information and know when to escalate.
  • Strong client communication and relationship management: you earn trust through follow-through and transparency.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously with strong organizational discipline.
  • Comfort working independently in a remote, small-team environment with a high degree of self-direction.

Assets that will strengthen your application

  • Experience in a consultancy, NGO, academic institution, or other project-driven organization.
  • Familiarity with project coordination, structured documentation, or operational planning.
  • Experience in brand identity or visual strategy.
  • Genuine interest in ocean science, conservation, or the environmental sector.
  • French or fluency in a second language.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Monday.com, and Adobe Express or Creative Cloud.

Why Work for Pisces Oceans?

  • Salary starting at $65,000, commensurate with experience, with flexibility for candidates bringing advanced expertise or specialized ocean-sector knowledge.
  • Comprehensive health benefits.
  • Generous vacation allotment.
  • Remote-first work environment with flexible scheduling.
  • Equipment and key software subscriptions provided.
  • Work that contributes directly to ocean impact.
  • A clear path toward increased responsibility and senior leadership as Pisces scales.
