About Sea Turtle Conservation Curaçao

Sea Turtle Conservation Curaçao is dedicated to the preservation and protection of sea turtles in their natural habitat. Its efforts encompass research, conservation, and education, and STCC prides itself on fostering a collaborative environment that encourages passionate individuals to contribute to ocean conservation.

STCC is seeking a Research Coordinator to join the team and play a vital role in advancing the conservation mission. In this position, the successful candidate will coordinate research and monitoring activities, support conservation initiatives, manage research data, and collaborate with a range of stakeholders.

The Research Coordinator will work closely with STCC's Scientific Committee, volunteers, and partner organizations to support the Foundation's research and conservation objectives.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess

  • A master's degree in a relevant scientific or environmental field.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project coordination skills.
  • Experience in research, conservation, environmental management, or a related field.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience working with volunteers, students, or community groups is an asset.
  • A willingness to work flexible hours when required for field activities.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • An interest in marine conservation and a commitment to the mission of Sea Turtle Conservation Curaçao.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support research, monitoring, and conservation activities.
  • Manage research data and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with rescue, rehabilitation, and field operations as needed.
  • Prepare reports and contribute to scientific and technical communications.
  • Support volunteer, student, and intern engagement and training.
  • Collaborate with partners, government agencies, researchers, and community stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of conservation and research initiatives.
