Senior Project Manager, Social Responsibility

Job Summary

FishWise is seeking a collaborative, detail-oriented, and impact-driven Senior Project Manager, Social Responsibility to support the organization's work advancing human and labor rights, human rights due diligence, and holistic sustainability within global seafood supply chains.

Reporting to the Project Director, this regular, full-time, remote position supports FishWise's business partnerships and projects by managing social responsibility and transparency initiatives, coordinating partner engagement, analyzing and communicating project outcomes, and helping develop practical solutions that integrate social, environmental, and traceability considerations into corporate due diligence programs.

The position requires approximately 10% domestic and international travel to support partner engagement, conferences, meetings, and other organizational priorities.

The expected pay range for this position is $64,400 to $73,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location.

About the Role

Within FishWise's Markets Program, the Senior Project Manager, Social Responsibility supports business partnerships and projects that advance human and labor rights and human rights due diligence throughout global seafood supply chains. The role contributes to the development and implementation of practical tools, guidance, and industry collaborations that promote holistic sustainability by integrating social responsibility, environmental sustainability, and transparency considerations into corporate due diligence efforts.

This position combines project management, partner engagement, research, communications, and cross-functional collaboration. The successful candidate will manage multiple projects simultaneously, work closely with seafood industry partners and other stakeholders, and help translate complex technical information into practical resources and solutions for diverse audiences.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment that requires balancing strategic priorities with day-to-day project execution.

What You'll Do

• Manage and execute social responsibility and transparency projects for FishWise partners, including work planning, progress tracking, data analysis, and partner reporting.
• Support the development and implementation of traceability, transparency, human rights due diligence, and holistic sustainability solutions for the seafood industry.
• Facilitate data collection, analysis, and reporting activities involving seafood suppliers and business partners.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with companies, collaborators, academic institutions, and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate effectively across FishWise teams to support alignment, communication, and knowledge sharing.
• Conduct research and contribute to technical resources, guidance documents, policy briefs, toolkits, presentations, and other industry-facing materials.
• Represent FishWise at conferences, webinars, meetings, and other external events.
• Maintain and support FishWise platforms, communications resources, and project-related content.
• Develop reports, one-pagers, presentations, infographics, and other communications materials that translate technical information into accessible resources.
• Support project budgeting, deliverable tracking, grant reporting, meeting coordination, and project documentation activities.
• Participate in cross-functional initiatives that support organizational learning, culture, equity, and continuous improvement.
• Support recruitment and hiring activities, including candidate screening, interviews, and selection processes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5–7 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 4–6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously and successfully balancing competing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience translating technical information for diverse audiences.
• Experience conducting research, synthesizing information, and developing written materials and resources.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience working with data to support project goals and reporting.
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across teams, organizations, cultures, and stakeholder groups.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a remote, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of seafood supply chains, traceability, transparency, sustainability, human rights due diligence, labor rights, or responsible sourcing practices.
• Experience working with corporate sustainability programs, compliance frameworks, due diligence systems, or related initiatives.
• Experience developing communications, learning materials, presentations, or visual resources for diverse audiences.
• Experience coordinating grant-funded projects and tracking deliverables and reporting requirements.
• Experience representing an organization in conferences, webinars, multi-stakeholder initiatives, or industry collaborations.
• Experience using platforms and tools such as Zoom, Google Workspace, Slack, Canva, Podio, Zoho, or similar systems.

Work Environment and Travel

This is a fully remote position based in the United States and is primarily performed in a standard home office environment, except during periods of travel and in-person meetings. The position requires approximately 10% domestic and international travel to support conferences, partner meetings, industry engagement, organizational activities, and other project-related responsibilities.

The role involves regular collaboration with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders across multiple time zones and may occasionally require schedule flexibility to support business and organizational needs.
