Position Functions
The Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks Program Manager provides program leadership and oversees the implementation of wildlife management activities across the Hualapai reservation. The Program Manager supervises all technical staff, including permanent and seasonal employees, in daily operations to complete all program projects. The incumbent will complete the scope of work of the BIA P.L.93-638 Contract for Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks under the supervision of the Assistant Director and the Director.
Essential Functions
- Conducting big game and small game population assessments to inform wildlife management decisions.
- Monitoring wildlife habitat conditions and evaluating wildlife water catchments and infrastructure used by wildlife.
- Collecting biological data to develop recommendations to the Tribal Council regarding hunting tag allocations and wildlife management strategies.
- Implementing habitat improvement projects and identifying infrastructure maintenance needs for wildlife water systems.
- Supporting grant development, program administration, and interagency coordination.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Wildlife, Fisheries, or related field preferred and/or ten years of experience in Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks.
- Must have administrative ability and professional knowledge of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be a team player to integrate with other programs within the department.
- Must be willing to attend and receive training related to the position.
- Must be physically fit and able to remain in the field for long durations of time.
- Possesses a valid driver's license and is eligible for the tribe's insurance.
